✨ She’s a former teacher, forever educator, turned Career Coach with a backbone in bespoke marketing + a whole lotta #locallove ✨
When I was in undergrad at University of Pittsburgh (PITT, Let’s Go Pitt!) we all knew teachers no longer lasted 25, 30 years. Kudos to the ones who are!!! Yet, I was the student peers pointed to saying: she’ll be a forever teacher. I believed it. Even moved to Manhattan, had a studio on the UWS + studied at Teachers College (TC) Columbia University where—fortuitously—I interned at TC Career Services 😉
~ long-story short ~
🌱 The late 2000’s recession was happening when graduating with my Master in Education (MSEd) from Nazareth University (Go Naz!), the teacher market was saturated, I have invisible disabilities and * bam * I need health insurance.
~ So, I career pivoted ~
🌱 Through networking + a ton of soul searching, I became a Career Advisor in 2012, a Certified Career Coach in 2015.
~ and I love it … I help empower ppl to live their best lives ~
🌱 2012 also happens to be the same time I began #ShopLocal blogging about all excellent things local in Rochester, NY!! The girl who grew-up her 1st 10 years in the Beechwood neighborhood fell in-love with local from the start. In short:
