BE Accepting: New Year, New Acceptance!
💫 Happy New Year 🤍 New Acceptance 💫
~ notice I didn’t say - “new you” ~
What do I mean by Acceptance? Well, Acceptance Therapy of course! I believe the full term is Acceptance + Commitment Therapy (ACT)… but we’re here to chat about the Acceptance part ✨
💫 First, I recently learned of this and second, it was such a relief. To know that it’s healthy + a best practice to simply:
• accept something’s hard
• accept life has stressful moments
• accept there can be really bad days
Is to feel a new sense of free.
💫 It doesn’t mean we can’t work to enhance or allay them. And it does not mean we accept oppression!!! But it does mean less resistance to natural ebbs + flows. For me, this leaves more energy to recenter and heal, and then: improve from there.
~ so if you’re struggling right now ~
Know that it is okay to not be okay. When accepting with healthy boundaries and self-empathy, this can create the space necessary to empower energy, motivation, collaboration, new ideas, and peace moving forward.
💫 How does this relate to me? Let’s just say it’s been a long year already LOL. But truly: One filled with insight, resilience, love, laughter, strength, + light. Working full-time (which I love!!) + running a small business part-time (which I also love!)—let alone building the life we love with my husband, local author, Dan Leicht—is truly no small feat.
So Acceptance Therapy—and focusing on Circles of Control — is truly the content we need. Cheers to therapy! And by the way! Please let me know if you’d like to hear more about Circles of Control ✨
